Where Was God?

Have you ever gone through something so devastating and painful that you look back and wonder where was God? If God was really there why didn’t He intervene? Why did He allow such tragedy take place? I don’t think there’s ever been a time in my life where I’ve personally witnessed so much tragedy and pain. A godly mom, who has given her life to serving her family and others gives birth to a beautiful still born baby. Oh, the agony! What Are You Harvesting?

Maple trees burst forth with golden-bronze highlights. Leaves dance as beechnuts fall to the ground. Red tinges the tips of burning bushes. Pumpkin patches set ablaze with orange, plump fruit. My favorite time of year. Fall. It always brings to mind the seasonal word harvest. Nature goes through its seasons, as Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 3:1, “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.” (NKJV) Just as nature, we, as Christians, have circumstances that bring rain, sunshine, heat, cold, storm, calm, dryness, fire, and flood. Woman, Why Do You Weep?

In the chilly dampness of the early morning hours, a woman gropes her way through the dark city streets of Jerusalem. Carrying only a small oil lamp to light her way, Mary Magdalene is joined by Joanna, Salome, and Mary, the mother of James. Leaving the city, they wend their way to the dew-moistened garden where Jesus had been buried.
