Be Still and Know That I am God

Spread the love

Stop! Slow down!

In this crazy, busy holiday season, try to take time to be still with Jesus.

In all of the running around, parties, and all of the holiday commitments we keep, I think we often forget what we are celebrating and why we are buying gifts for others….remember Jesus’s birth. Remember the reason for the season.

Don’t let the BUSYNESS of the holiday season steal you away from the real joy of Christmas. Try to take time out to spend with Jesus first and your family here on earth second.

God commands us to “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” (Psalm 46:10 ESV).

Just in the simple act of being still, tuning out everything else of this world, and focusing on Him, we honor God and His command.

Next, he asks us to know that He is God. To recognize Him and glorify Him through another simple act…recognition of Him as the one true king.

And do we really know Him? How many of us can truly say that we know God and His ways?

I’m trying… sometimes I feel like I’m not doing as good of a job at this as I should be. God is so gracious to us, isn’t He my friends.

And finally, God promises us that when we are still and know Him, then he is lifted high and distinguished throughout the earth. Through obeying his simple commands, God is exalted in all the nations.

So, will you join me this holiday season to BE STILL with Jesus and KNOW that He is God?

Be Blessed,

AllisonD
