When You Want Your Children to Care for Others and Have a Great Big Global Heart

Spread the love

We want our children to care about others, to love well, and to have the kind of compassion that motivates them to move.

But it’s so easy to get caught up in baseball practice, ballet recitals, homework, and the unending to-do list that every family deals with on a daily basis that we completely miss the world of hurt that is going on around us.

Today, I’m going to cut to the chase and ask YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN to SPONSOR a CHILD through COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL and I’ll tell you why…

1. Because YOUR CHILDREN will never understand the reality of lives outside their own world unless you intentionally expose them to them.

2. Because YOUR CHILDREN will have the opportunity to discover the joy of giving.

3. Because YOUR CHILDREN will have the opportunity to discover the joy of coming up with creative ways to raise funds for others.

4. Because YOUR CHILDREN will have the opportunity to enter into a real and vibrant relationship with someone from another country.

5. Because COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL is a solid ministry that has stood the test of time and can be trusted to do what they say they will do.

6. Because COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL connects with national pastors and churches to minister specifically to children in need and makes a vital difference in the lives of kids around the world.

7. Because COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL not only meets the physical needs of the children you sponsor, but because of their relationship with national pastors and churches, they make an eternal difference in the lives of little ones who would otherwise experience physical and spiritual poverty.

8. Because JESUS calls us to minister to minister to the poor, the needy, the sick and the suffering.

9. Because YOU only have a short time leave an imprint of compassion on your children’s hearts.

10. Because A REAL CHILD needs your help today and $39 a month is worth the eternal difference YOU and YOUR CHILDREN will be making in a precious little life.

The reality is, that children are hurting and hungry and you and your children can make a difference. In fact, here are 10 ways you can help your children raise some money to support a child.

1. An old-fashioned lemonade stand. Yuppers! That’ll work!

2. Mow a neighbor’s yard.

3. Do extra chores around the house.

4. Collect items and sell at a garage sale.

5. Clean a neighbor’s house.

6. Walk a neighbor’s dog or feed their pets when they go on vacation.

7. Have a bake sale.

8. Ask a local grocery store if your children can bag groceries for tips for your Compassion child.

9. Wait tables at a church dinner and ask the church members to give tips that will go to help support your Compassion Child.

10. Babysit for your church’s small group or for a friend or neighbor.

You and your children can make a real difference in the life of a young child – and that young child will definitely make a difference in your lives!

And here are some realities that might help you and your children decide how important it is to make a difference in the lives of others…

If you have money in the bank, money in your wallet,
and loose change lying around your house,
you are richer than 92% of the world.

If you woke up this morning
with more health than illness,
you are more blessed than the
million who won’t survive the week.

If you have never experienced
the danger of battle,
the loneliness of imprisonment,
the agony of torture or
the pangs of starvation,
you are ahead of 20 million people
around the world.

If you attend a church meeting
without fear of harassment,
arrest, torture, or death,
you are more blessed than almost
three billion people in the world.

If you have food in your refrigerator,
clothes on your back, a roof over
your head and a place to sleep,
you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank,
in your wallet, and spare change
in a dish someplace, you are among
the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.

If your parents are still married and alive,
you are very rare,
especially in the United States.

If you can read this message,
you are more blessed than over
two billion people in the world
that cannot read anything at all.

ARE YOU ALREADY SPONSORING A COMPASSION CHILD? I’D LOVE TO HEAR YOUR STORY SO I CAN SHARE IT IN THE COMING MONTHS!
