For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.Ecclesiastes 3:1

What does your Saturday typically look like? Filled with errands? Cleaning? Grocery shopping?

It’s time to ditch the chores and have some fun with the family.

THESE ARE THE DAYS MEMORIES ARE MADE!

These are the days little hearts are molded and imprints that will last a life-time are etched in your children’s minds and grafted on their heart.

These are the days you don’t want to exchange for a trip to the grocery store or a toilet you could have cleaned yesterday.

So, sweet mom, ditch the chores, have some fun and make some memories!

And here are 5 things you can do today to make your moments matter…

1. Family picnic at the park, the beach, or by the river

Take a frisbee, Croquet, a toy toss game, a Nurf game, kick ball, or a volley ball, and a picnic lunch. (A low-cost day of active fun, lots of laughs and time with the family no one will forget.)

2. Visit a museum or historical site near you

Take your camera or smart phone and take lots of pics and/or videos with your kids next to historic items. Video them creating a reenactment or making up a story that might go with what they see in the museum or historical site. Take a picnic lunch with you and eat out on the lawn of the museum or head to a nearby park or head back home and eat your picnic lunch in your yard. (A fun, inexpensive way to have fun, be goofy together, be creative, learn a few things and make some memories.)

3. Create a scavenger hunt that will end up at one of your children’s favorite places to eat or favorite ice cream parlor, or game room

Be creative and come up with a fun way to make your way to your children’s favorite place to eat or favorite ice cream parlor, or favorite game room like ChuckECheese. You can make it a Photo Scavenger Hunt for extra fun, or make it easy and fun by creating a Mall Scavenger Hunt where you all have to find something specific like XL Green T-Shirt, a wedding ring that costs $599, a necklace with a fish on it, a pair of purple gloves, a pair of red flip flops, etc… (Lots of silly fun, sweet memories, and lunch or dessert at one of their favorite places to eat.)

4. Make bad-weather days your best-ever days by playing in the rain or building a tent and camping out in your living room

Don’t let bad weather spoil your fun. Play in the rain. Or grab a sheet and build the biggest tent you can in your living room. Turn the lights out and get a flash light. Make some sandwiches and eat lunch in the tent, tell stories, make some stories up, direct a play, sing songs, play a board game, do whatever you want to do but be sure to have some fun. (FREE, fun, great memories you won’t want to miss.)

5. Take a Saturday random road trip

Be brave and take a random road trip to an unknown destination. Explore your own town, head out of town, stop and discover some of the sites along the way, eat at a mom-and-pop restaurant or take a picnic lunch and eat at a rest stop, a park or a beach along the way. Take selfies at every stop and then when you get home, share your road trip with your FB friends or print them out and plaster them all over the fridge or your family picture wall. Whatever you do, have fun! (Low cost, family fun, with lots of laughs, pictures you can print out and pictures etched on the heart of your children for the rest of their lives.)

WILL YOU DITCH YOUR CHORES TODAY? WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH YOUR FAMILY TO MAKE SOME MEMORIES?
