Ingredients
  1. 1 bar (about 4 oz) thinly grated Castile soap*
  2. 1 cup washing soda
  3. 3/4 cup Borax (not Boric Acid)
  4. 2 tablespoons baking soda
  5. Essential oils of choice ( I love Lavender and/or Tea Tree Oil)
Instructions
  1. 1. Use a cheese grater (smaller the grate the better) and grate the bar of Castile soap.
  2. 2. Mix all ingredients together in a food processor. If desired, add your choice of essential oils for a natural fragrance.
  3. 3. Store in a cute sealed container with a tablespoon sized scoop.
  4. 4. Use 1 tablespoon per load, or 2 tablespoons for heavily soiled loads.
  5. 5. Enjoy knowing you are saving LOADS of money while using the all natural ingredients!
Notes
  1. I use this laundry detergent daily, and I'm excited to see how it works just as good as name brand! I'm eager to try different essential oils in future batches. I also had no idea that a simple box of Borax made such a wonderful natural household cleaner--again for a fraction of the price.

Notes
*You can find homemade natural Castile soap or a batch of this detergent at www.taradovenbarger.com. The washing soda and Borax can be found in your grocery store laundry isle (Washing Soda and Borax were each under $4.00). You can also substitute ZOTE, Ivory, or Fels-Naptha for the homemade Castile soap.

Do you make any of your own household cleaners? What are your favorite recipes?

God saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.  Titus 3:5-7

Praising Him through my pen,
