The Indescribable Gift of Christmas

Spread the love

What gift have people from around the globe longed for since the beginning of time, arrived exactly as predicted over two-thousand years ago, is not able to be bought or manipulated with money, given to us freely but paid for by the death of the innocent life of a King, wanted by all but rejected by most?

Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! 2 Corinthians 9:15

Jesus Christ the Messiah, Lamb of God, the Way, the Truth, the Life, Rabbi, Son of the Most High is our Gift!

Why is this gift a big deal for you and I? For our children and grandchildren?

  • Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.   1 Timothy 1:15
  • You shall call His name Jesus, for he will save His people from their sins.   Matthew 1:21
  • Being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Titus 3:7
  • For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.  John 3:16

When unwrapped and accepted this Indescribable Gift saves us from our sins and grants us eternal life!

But, the majority of people throughout time decide to reject the Gift.

  • All the city came out to meet Jesus; and when they saw Him, they implored Him to leave their region. Matt 8:34
  • Jesus said, “Blessed is he who does not take offense at me.  Matt 8:34
  • Jesus wondered at their unbelief.  Mark 6:6
  • The religious people of the day “mocked Him and spit on Him and scourged Him and killed Him….” Mark 10:34

What have you done with the Gift? Have you bowed your knees in acceptance or quietly walked away in rejection?

“When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.

He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.[a] He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior.

Because of his grace he declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.”  Titus 3:4-7 (NLT)
