Bridging the gap between a mother’s need for a mentor 

and the church’s need for resources and support.

 

 

There’s a lot of talk about manifestos these days and you find them popping up on a multitude of websites defining a ministry or organization. Simply defined a manifesto is a declaration of intentions, motives or opinions.

But rather than sharing a manifesto, we’d like to share our vision for The M.O.M. Initiative so you can get a glimpse of the heart of the ministry and what we believe God is calling us to accomplish.

With The M.O.M. Initiative in its fledgling stages, we want to fan the flames of our vision in hopes that it will set your heart ablaze too. There’s a generation hanging in the balance and if we don’t start stepping into our Titus 2 roles, we might just lose it. The M.O.M. Initiative is not willing to just let that happen… not on our watch!

Before we share our vision we first want to THANK YOU! We have been humbled by your response and overwhelmed by our gracious God to bless this new ministry with so many moms, mentors and mentees. It’s a beautiful thing to see a resurgence of Titus 2 women who are passionate about giving the gift of themselves to leave a legacy of faith and change the world one mom at a time.

So, sweet moms, we want you to hear the heart of The M.O.M. Initiatve, catch the vision and take the torch to the next generation to be mothers on a mission to mentor other mothers.

Our vision for The M.O.M. Initiative is big, broad and completely dependent upon the Living God and church of God to fulfill.

  • Our goal is to mobilize the church to mentor moms not only within the four walls of the church but ultimately that the church will take Titus 2 to the streets where they will use The M.O.M. Initiative resources to mentor the generation of young moms we are currently losing.
  • Our goal is to form a team of M.O.M.s who will serve as the organizational leadership team as well as fulfill the role of presenting The M.O.M. Initiative to churches and organizations and train others how to use it to develop and nurture ongoing mentoring relationships.
  • Our goal is to become a mentoring organization led by the leadership team, serving internationally and becoming a catalyst for change as we seek to glorify God and change the world one mom at a time.
  • Our goal is to be actively involved in the community; in low income housing projects, in at-risk neighborhoods, in juvenile shelters, in prisons, in homes for unwed mothers, in crisis pregnancy centers, as a social-services faith-based alternative and on the mission field.
  • Our goal is that our website will serve as a meeting place to minister to moms on both sides of the mentor equation. Providing fresh ideas, practical help, encouragement and devotions daily, the website also offers a virtual mentor experience through an online chat room and in the future, it will be able to link moms with potential M.O.M. mentors in their area.
  • Our goal is to provide support and encouragement to teen and single moms in need, as well as facilitate mentoring relationships between a mentor and a young mom.
  • Our goal is to provide multiple books and resources to minister to moms in all seasons of motherhood.
  • Our goal is to offer conferences, workshops and video resources to equip, encourage and enable moms in powerful and practical ways.
  • Our goal is to give back. A portion of all proceeds will go to C2BU, a ministry on the front lines fighting to help end the plight of human trafficking, to homes for unwed mothers and to crisis pregnancy centers.
We believe that if the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world, then the church that mentors those hands will win it!
 
We believe that it’s possible that we could start a revolution of women who are willing to become Esthers for such a time as this and mentor another mother. In fact, we’re counting on it!

The publishing process can be a bit slow, but in the meantime look for a quarterly PDF book that is topically based to minister to you as well as be tools in your hands to help you mentor another mother.
