Am I a Mother? by Holley Gerth

One baby in heaven and having walked years down the road of infertility, I used to ask the question, “Am I a mother?”   I don’t ask it anymore.   I have the answer.   A few years ago a coworker came running up to my desk with a smile on her face and excitement in her voice. “A greeting card you wrote has been nominated for an award!”   I asked what kind of card it was. Baby Congratulations.   As she walked away, I leaned back in my chair and pondered the irony. Then it seemed God’s voice whispered right in …

Saturday KIDZ: CAST YOUR WORRIES ON JESUS

Following is today’s Saturday KIDZ TIME devotional! Set out juice and a treat. Open your child’s Bible to 1 Peter 5:7.  Place a yellow crayon beside their Bible so during your devotional time, they can color the verse. This will help your child connect the dots that what you’re teaching them is from the Bible. And, it is fun to be in God’s Word!  KIDZ TIME BIBLE VERSE:  C:  Cast your worries on Jesus because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 CRAFT:  Child cuts out pictures of “worries” from a magazine; then “hooks” them to fishing pole with tape or pipe cleaner. The worry …

Keep Calm and Swim On

Crystal clear water hems me in tighter than a warm blanket.   Bubbles dance off my fingers as they glide through the singing water. All muscles are hard at work but I’m completely at rest. Some call swimming exercise. I prefer to call it the most relaxing part of my day. I am not a good swimmer.  I survived lessons as a scared child… but never learned anything fancy.  Instead of springing up when our rooster crows to head for the gym, most mornings I  justify pulling the warm covers back over my sleepy head. Nevertheless, the days I grudgingly …

Teach Us To Make The Most Of Our Time Visual Verse

Time. We have a limited amount of it. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. Tomorrow will come and we will have 24 more hours to make the most of our time. What if, sweet moms, we purposed to make the most of that time by being fully present with our families. Fully aware. Fully involved. and fully ready to see what God would have us do with each of those minutes in that day for our kids and our families. It’s not a checklist, nor is it a “dream” of all the great things you will get done that day, but …
