I longed to be the perfect mom. The one who never yelled, always dressed her kids in matching clothes and never counted to three. But I was NOT the perfect mom.
When my children were young, I remember seeing those ‘perfect’ moms from afar and thinking, “WOW! I wish I was like her!” You know the ones…those moms whose kids ALWAYS behaved in public, never talked back and made straight “A’s”. The moms whose house was always clean, never had to watch their weight and never ran late for appointments.
But I wasn’t. I’m not. I never will be.
In fact, it took me years to come to grips with the reality that there is no such thing as a perfect mom! It was freeing! Liberating to know I didn’t have to measure up to someone else’s expectations of me and I had discovered I had created unattainable expectations for myself.
No one is Pinterest Perfect!
That’s why I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am about Jill Savage’s new book, No More Perfect Moms!
We don’t have perfect kids, perfect bodies, perfect marriages, perfect friends, perfect days, perfect homes or perfect meals. But we do have ONE PERFECT GOD.
You see, we’ve all been affected by what Jill describes as the Perfection Infection. Trying to be all and do all and finding ourselves drowning in the sea of our own expectations.
The M.O.M. Initiative is very selective in the books we recommend, sweet mom, because you are so very important to us! But without reservation and with great excitement, we count it an honor to be able to recommend NO MORE PERFECT MOMS to you!
It’s coming out on February 4th and it is a MUST READ for all moms!
And as a ministry that focuses on not only moms, but mentors too, we are also recommending it to mentors as a fresh reminder of how difficult it is to walk in the shoes of a mom who is overwhelmed, but constantly bombarded by messages from every direction telling her how she can…and should be perfect.
In her new book, No More Perfect Moms, Jill Savage takes moms on a journey in which they will stop trying to find “perfect” and embrace “authentic.” Not perfect moms…but real moms, with real problems, in real life, with real frailties as she gives them real hope in a real God who is the only One who is perfect.
The M.O.M. Initiative highly recommends No More Perfect Moms and invites you to CLICK THIS LINK to Jill’s ministry site, Hearts at Home and find out how you can JOIN the 31 DAY CHALLENGE!
