If you’re over 35, we need to hear from you!

Recently we heard from a MOM Group leader who shared that the young mom she mentored in jail showed up at her church when she got out of jail. She hasn’t received Christ yet, but God is working on her and the MOM Group she was part of in jail was where she discovered how much God loves her and her children and wants her to become a mom they can be proud of. Oh, you know that made my heart smile big time! MOM Groups are where lives are changed and families strengthened. It’s the heart of TMI. To …

How to Be Thankful Even When You Don’t Feel Like It

And be thankful. Colossians 3:15b ESV How do you get to a place of thankfulness when it would be so easy to just give up and become bitter or beaten down by the tough seasons in life? Everywhere you turn others are talking about their sweet family traditions and keeping a daily journal on their instagram page of things they are thankful for and you, well, you find yourself thinking…what do I have to do to catch a break here? Yep, I hear you sweet friend. It’s not always sunshine and lollipops in my world either, but let me let …

Don’t Give Up…

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9 ESV Mom, sister, grandmother, friend, no matter what battle might be going on in your world right now let me just take a minute to encourage you…don’t give up! It’s easy enough to say, I know, but when the going gets tough, we as praying women, need to get on the floor. No, I’m not talking about the exasperated fall to the ground, but the movement of a woman who is purposeful, passionate and persistent …

Over the years it’s not always been easy, as any boy mom can attest to. They are …

When Another Mom Needs Your Help

We came upon the wreck just moments after it happened. The older gentlemen stood beside his mangled car, looking confused and disoriented. Others had stopped and were checking on the other vehicle, which had careened into a ditch just inches before hitting a major power line. We pulled around the wreck trying to avoid shards of metal and glass that covered the road, then pulled over to see if we could help. I passed the other car—where everyone was gathered—and asked if the driver was ok (he was).  Instead, I was heading toward the grey-haired man wandering in the road. …

Because Moms of All Ages Need Each Other

Ever feel inadequate as a mom? Ever wondered why the mom you thought you would be – the mom you wanted to be – was very different from you are? Motherhood is so fluid. Just when you feel like you get one stage down, they grow up a little and everything changes and then you’re left wondering what to do next. Ever felt like that? Me too!  That’s one of the reasons I wrote The Making of a Mom! Because I don’t think any mom should have to go it alone and I don’t think any mom should feel like a bad day …

Because Being a Grandma Rocks

I never had one, but I am one now. A grandma! Yup! It’s not something I thought about much in between baseball practice and guitar lessons with my two little guys. But my boys are now men and they have lives of their own. Today, our life is a far cry from the crazy loud lives we enjoyed with two rambunctious boys, an unending to-do list, and little time for rest.  But here we are, Abuela and Papa. Our nest is empty but our hearts and arms are still full. And being a grandma is sawweeeeet! It’s not just that you …
