One Tired Mom

Spread the love

Crazy days, sleepless nights! We all have them from time to time. We become overwhelmed and tired!

Even the makers of the Snickers ™ candy bar understand. They now sell ones with wrappers that say: cranky, ornery, snippy, impatient and whiny.

Snicker Bars

Sinks full of dishes, unmade beds, bustling toddlers, self-conscious teens and overloaded calendars.

How does a busy mom make sense of all this – clutter and confusion?

BEGIN WITH GOD!

You’re my place of quiet retreat; I wait for Your Word to renew me. Psalm 119:114

I often lose sight of God and my purpose when life is constantly crazy.

There is NOTHING more important to ignite and keep your faith strong than to read God’s Word every day.

Learn from my experience – drawing close to Jesus (for however long you can) will make a difference in your perspective for the coming day. I call this time “reflection & direction”. It is a scheduled time on my planner to literally sit and reflect on what God has done and what He is doing in my life.

I also ASK GOD for direction and wisdom for the coming day. Our days are numbered. Are you making the best of each day you have?

PRAY, PRAY, PRAY

I am a mom to two grown daughters ages 33 and 31 and no longer have control over what they do, where they go, or who they are with. I realize that PRAYER is the first and often only recourse I have when they are going through struggles or making unwise decisions.

Instead of trying to fix it, offering unwanted advice, or being “in their face!” I turn it over to God. (Please note if it’s a life threatening situation – I will be right there!) I need to pause, step back and let God work in them HIS plan for their lives and what HE wants them to learn. (Believe me that is not my natural bent and is hard to do most of the time – let go and let God!)

Turning over those worries to God helps me be less emotionally tired. Casting all my cares on Him truly does make a difference!
Give your burdens to the LORD, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. Psalm 55:22

GOD NEVER GETS TIRED

He always, always, always has our best interests at heart! When we are tired – he is there working in our midst when we don’t see it, don’t feel him or are simply too tired to care.

Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:28-31

Oh, sweet moms! Whatever you are struggling with this very day, may you take heart knowing that God cares, He will lift you up. He knows all about it, and is waiting for YOU to come to Him!
