Home habits holiness New Start 15

How’s that New Start working out?

Spread the love

How have the first days of 2015 gone so far in your family? We’re just 10 days into this new year of motherhood, and already, it’s obvious that we need Jesus! We can absolutely grow more godly as mamas this year, even though we’re going to face the unexpected. Maybe you’ve already by surprised by a flu bug, a teacher change, a bill, a conversation, or a decision. No matter what your ordinary and extraordinary days look like, the good news is “that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus,” (Philippians 1:6).  Isn’t that great news?

This year is like a clean piece of watercolor paper, a square of smooth wet cement, or a new journal with clean pages. It’s just waiting for God to write our story on it. He intends for His moms to grow in godliness. Home is a place to practice the habits of holiness.

Home habits holiness New Start 15

This week on the New Start 15, MOM Initiative moms and friends have shared about God’s plan for our holiness in and out of our homes. If you weren’t ready to dive in last Monday, you can START NOW! Read on to see what you’ve missed and can catch up on, and then check out the links at the end to get what you need to join in.

What happened in New Start 15 this week?

On Monday our own MOM Heather Riggleman kicked us off with the challenge to Be Brave by following the example of Jesus as moms. Angela Mackey encouraged us to believe, “Hopelessness vanishes because God gives us power to live holy righteous lives.”  MOM Janet Thompson welcome our friend Kathy Howard to Woman to Woman Mentoring to talk about starting this year with a clean slate. Julie Sanders talked about a tough topic: How a sinful woman can be a holy wife.

On Tuesday Kathy Howard tackled the way holiness looks in our daily choices and what difference it makes in how useful we are for God.  Christen Price of the MOM team shared how God calls us out of darkness and into HIS light of holy living.  On Thursday, Lori Moody talked about 2 Ways to Invest in Your Future, short-term and long-term.  Heather Riggleman closed our first week of New Start 15 by asking, “Do you want to be a life poured out, a life set apart–a life worthy of a legacy?” in her post The Art of Losing Yourself.

This year, it’s not just a dream that we can be more godly moms than last year. It’s POSSIBLE! We have the power of God Himself working to make it happen. He started the work and will carry it to completion!
