Because She Is a Mother ~ The M.O.M. Initiative

 

She gives the last piece of pie to her kids. Not because she doesn’t like it, but because she is a mother.

She drops everything to take her children to baseball practice and to ballet lessons. Not because she doesn’t have anything important to do, but because she is a mother.

She takes her kids to the park when she is invited to go with her friends out to eat. Not because she doesn’t want to spend time with her friends, but because she is a mother and she promised her children they would go to the park.

She holds her children when they cry through the night as she comforts them while they are sick. Not because she doesn’t need sleep, but because she is a mother.

She consistently washes an endless pile of dishes and laundry. Not because she likes to put away dishes and fold clothes, but because she is a mother.

She stays up late mending her children’s clothes and preparing cupcakes for school. Not because she isn’t tired, but because she’s a mother.

She sacrifices her time and gives from her heart to be sure her children are well taken care of and know that they’re loved. Not because she has to but because she is a mother.
