Becoming Momma K

Spread the love

I’m already “mom”.  1453556_10202000268661138_1275962250_n

Thanks to my daughter and son-in-love, I will be Momma K!

The richness of the blessing of a grand son is beyond words in description.
Often times words cannot convey what the heart feels.

Conversation about how much we want to bless this little guy is regular
between my husband and I.
With sparkling eyes, the younger aunts and uncles make plans for play time with
their nephew.

I pray that God will bless me with a rich relationship with our grand son.

Becoming Momma K is helping me become mom all over again.

Becoming Momma K

I’m seeing my children that are still at home in a different light; the light that I know
God intended in the first place.

My children are high priority to me. I just see me loving them better.
I notice plastic army tanks and helicopters on the edge of my bathtub as my 8 year
old son’s battlefield instead of a toy that traps water and makes a mess on the floor.

I see the Bingo and Connect Four game invitation as a time to giggle with them
because of the clever strategy they come up with.
I say “no” to more things outside my home to be able to sit and be with my children.

The little lady still at home that is needing guidance and instruction to become a woman of strength looks to me for approval of the girly things.

Travel time to and from basketball practices with my 16 year old son, who is fast becoming a young man before my eyes,  is precious time of talking about the hard stuff of growing up.

I ask myself the tough question, “Did it take? Is it “taking?”

We impart the wisdom of God’s Word to our children.
We try our best to walk our walk (and crawl) of faith as actively as we can in front of them.

When all of my children are grown and gone, I want to be able to confidently say,

“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” 3 John 4

Even with that desire, I must remember that I am not my children’s “everything”. I am not their only influence. They get to choose to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit or worldly things.

A mother’s prayers and example of a life lived by faith will not go wasted or unnoticed by Almighty God.
We trust, instruct and release.

“I am merely God’s servant in caring for my children while they are on this earth. I must learn to wait for His wisdom, to set my heart to please Him. Doing this, I can rest, knowing that even when I make mistakes or seem to fumble through my life, He will be there to pick up the pieces and guide me through each season. Even in the darkest hours and most despairing moments, my life and the lives of my children will be securely in His hands.”
