Thankful to be a Mom

Lord,

Today I am thankful for my life as a mom.

It isn’t the life I planned.

Proverbs 16:9, “The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.”

You brought me a godly husband I don’t deserve.

Psalm 1:1, Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked; nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers.”

You set aside my prayers for success & fame and gave me a houseful of children.

Psalm 128:3, Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table.

You heard my cries for help when babies were crying and my husband was working late hours.

Psalm 77:1, I cry aloud to God, and he will hear me.

You captured my tears in your bottle, which were shed because of mistakes made in my marriage.

Proverbs 31:12, She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.

You kept me awake at night when my children were sick and needed me most and you gave me energy to meet their needs.

Isaiah 40:11, He will tend his flick like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.

You held me close when I tried to push you away.

Isaiah 30:18, Therefore the LORD waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you.

You comforted my aching heart when my unborn baby died.

Psalm 119:76, “Let your steadfast love comfort me.”

I thank you for the noise I hear every day of my children laughing, talking and even arguing.

Psalm 127: 3, Behold, Children are a heritage of the LORD.

I thank you that my days are full, busy and never boring.

Proverbs 31:27, She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat of the bread of idleness.

I thank you for the hard days that remind me I cannot be a mom without you.

Psalm 118:14, The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.

I am blessed Lord. Thank you for making me a mom.

Psalm 118: 21 & 28, I thank you for answering my prayer and giving me victory! You are my God, and I will praise you!You are my God, and I will exalt you!
