What Will You Be Known For

Known For

A great friend of mine  posted an Instagram picture with the quote,

“At Mom’s, I found a stack of soft flannel for sewing baby blankets. One of the many gifts she was known for. #missmom”

I started thinking about my own Momma and her living legacy and what she’s known for.

She is such a giver; creatively with her specialty of crocheted blankets, and with her words of encouraging in her special way.

She is a minister of the Word and imparts wisdom to those that will hear.

I’m so blessed to call her my Momma and can tell my children and grandchildren what their grandmother is known for.

I started examining my life.

My skill set(s). What do I have to offer to be “known for”?

I don’t sew, crochet, knit, bake yummy, perpetual goodies, or serve in the community.

What of worth will I be known for?
I just want to make Jesus known through my life; to be instrumental in spreading His love and the gospel.

The avenues that God will use for woman for His glory will look different for each one.
No two gifts are alike.
He has equipped each woman specifically.

Question is, how to best use it; to “be about it”?
I now think toward my home.

What will my husband say of me? He already lets me know everything that I am to him.
  • easy to love
  • beautiful
  • a proverbs 31 woman (even when I fail him, he exhorts me)
What will my children say of me?

I know what my oldest daughter would say, but what about my other 2 daughters and my 3 sons?
If asked, “What is your mom known for?”, what would they answer?
My legacy. What will it look like?

This isn’t something that I’m fretting over.
There is no doubt in my mind that God has great things in store for our family.
Its a realization that I have some “being intentional” to do, be and become.

“Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, he praises her…”
Proverbs 31:28
