31 prayers that will change lives (includes printables)

Spread the love

The chaos, the biting comments, the bill pile and another child getting out of bed…again. When will this week end? If this statement applies to you, it’s time to take back your home and fight for you family. As women–we are the heart of the home.  Each day, we have the oppterunity to create comfort, attend to needs, and make way for change and it all begins on our knees.

I was feeling as crabby as my kids,  until I saw a word picture on Facebook that said,

“If you’re too busy to pray or read your Bible, then you are busier than God ever intended you to be.”

My family seemed irritable, my husband was burned out and all of us were allowing our circumstances and emotions control us. But when I saw that word picture, I knew something needed to change. God opened my eyes to the most powerful weapon mamas have–prayer. But I didnt know where to start, most of the time my prayers were popcorn prayers of, “God help Chris’ temper today,” or “Lord, please help Elijah behave at school.”

I wanted to be intentional, to lift up specific needs, to pray about character–to make my prayers count!

Instead I want to pray things like:

“Father, infuse their spirits with your word, that they may not right from wrong and choose to do what is right.”

Then I realized I need to do this on purpose.

Take a time out

We need to take time outs on a daily basis, not just to refuel our own parched spirits with the goodness of chocolate and carbs but also with God’s word. And once we’ve filled our cup, we can focus on those little bodies that seem to move and shake all the time.

And sometimes we just need a little direction which is why I love the idea of a prayer calendar. I chose 31 characteristics I want to build in my child or pray over my husband. Then I found scriptures that corresponded with that particular character. It is the perfect way to get started and a great way to focus on your family through out the day.
